Formula 1 live ticker: Patience with Lewis Hamilton "is over"

Italian GP

08:13 a.m.

Fifteen races of the 2025 season have now been completed. However, things are still not going quite right for Lewis Hamilton after his move to Ferrari. The record world champion even crashed at Zandvoort and didn't even see the checkered flag.

"The [patience] is running out," says expert Ralf Schumacher in Sky 's Backstage Boxengasse podcast, explaining that his accident on Sunday was a mistake "that shouldn't happen to a seven-time world champion."

The Italian media, in particular, "show no mercy," says the expert, who explains: "It's difficult for him too. [...] I think it hurts him too. [...] You have to be able to deal with so much criticism." "If things continue like this, I think it will be difficult for him at Ferrari," predicts Schumacher, recalling with a grin: "I don't know what was higher, the pay or the expectation, or both." "And in the long run, if things continue like this, it won't work," says the six-time Grand Prix winner, who believes Hamilton needs to "get even more involved with Ferrari and even more involved with the car."

Maybe it will work at the home race in Monza this weekend.
